150 American elite military soldiers arriving in Ukraine to train Ukrainian Armed Forces

In the next few days, more than 150 soldiers from the elite 101st airborne division of the US Army will arrive in Ukraine to train the Ukrainian military at the Yavoriv combat training center in the Lviv region, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the US Valeriy Chaly wrote on his Facebook page.

“The Screaming eagles are flying to Ukraine! In the next few days, more than 150 soldiers from the elite 101st airborne division of the US Army will arrive in Ukraine to train the Ukrainian military at the Yavoriv combat training center and to exchange know-how,” he wrote.

The Ukrainian ambassador also wrote that he had recently talked with the head of the US Army, Mark Milley, about the importance of having a military strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States. Chaly noted that Donald Trump nominated Milley to serves as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. “I am convinced that this combat general is not throwing words to the wind,” the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States added.

On March 6, President Poroshenko signed a law approving the admission of foreign troops to train in Ukraine. According to the bill, 8,000 foreign troops with weapons and military equipment are being considered for entry to participate in six exercises: multinational trained units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian-American Rapid Trident and Sea Breeze, Ukrainian-British Warrior Watcher, multinational “Maple Arch” and the Ukrainian-Romanian “Riverine”.
