    On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Justice added the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People to the list of organizations that are suspended on the territory of the Russian Federation due to “extremist activity”, Interfax reported.

    The so-called Supreme Court of the Russian Crimea held a session on Friday regarding the prohibition of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People on the occupied peninsula. As Krym.Realii reported, the session lasted a mere 10 minutes and resulted in a postponement of the hearing.

    The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars’ regional building was attacked by unknown assailants in Simferopol.  This was posted on Facebook by a member and coordinator of the Mejlis, Eskender Bariev.  According to him, unknown suspects smashed the glass in the building, which is located on Chekhov Street.

    On March 3rd, 2016, the trial which aims to prohibit the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars on the peninsula, began in the Supreme Court of Crimea.
