Assad promises benefits to Russian companies during Syria’s restoration

Syrian authorities are ready to provide maximum benefits to Russian companies during the restoration of the country’s economy, stated the Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“The Government of Syria and all relevant organizations received the necessary instructions from our President Bashar Assad indicating that maximum benefits will be granted to our Russian colleagues who will participate in the restoration of Syria’s economy so that our country will be in the same position it was before the war,” he said.

The Ambassador said that as a result of the war, which began in 2011, entire sectors of the economy of Syria have been destroyed.

Earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin spoke about the benefits that the Assad regime will provide. He said that Russian companies that conclude different kinds of contracts in Syria will receive various preferences and benefits.

Earlier, members of the UN Security Council, after repeated delays in voting, adopted a resolution on establishing a ceasefire in Syria for at least 30 days.
