Kremlin: Putin managed to speak with many world leaders in Paris

More than seventy heads of state were present at the celebration of the Centennial Anniversary of Armistice Day in Paris and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with many of them, said Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“He briefly exchanged a few words with the President of the United States, Donald Trump,” said Peskov. According to him, the leaders agreed that they had “something to talk about” including the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. They agreed to target [for the next talks] in Argentina at the next G20 summit meeting.

Peskov also said that Putin spoke separately with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for around ten to fifteen minutes. Peskov explained that they discussed current issues in bilateral relations.

The Kremlin representative also added that the Prime Minister of Greece, Alexis Tsipras is preparing to visit Moscow. “Indeed, the following visit is under preparation,” stated Peskov. Greek media reported that Putin had invited Tsipras to visit Russia on December 7.

Earlier, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that US President Donald Trump had spoken with Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the INF Treaty, the situation in Saudi Arabia, Syria, sanctions and North Korea. Netanyahu described the conversation with Putin as good and substantial.
