Kremlin: Russia does not intend to increase the number of its military in Venezuela

The Russia does not plan to increase the number of military specialists in Venezuela, said Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov as quoted by RIA Novosti.

"We did not even think about it," Borisov stated.

In March, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that the presence of Russian specialists in Venezuela is regulated by an agreement between the countries on military-technical cooperation.

In April, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington is ready to "respond" to the presence of the Russian military in Venezuela.
