LPR and DPR declare that UN peacekeepers will not be allowed into the Donbas without their permission

Representatives of the so-called LPR and DPR, Denis Pushilin and Vladislav Deynego, have reacted to statements by the US Department of State's Special Representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker, asserting that the deployment of peacekeepers to the Donbas does not need to be coordinated with the separatist republics.

The representatives from the unrecognized republics assert that they are equal participants in the negotiations, since the leaders of the so-called “People's Republics”, Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky, signed the Minsk agreements.

"These signatures were applied at Minsk, where in all negotiations the leaders of the Donbas participated as equal partners at the invitation of the Normandy Four countries. On these grounds, the DPR and LPR will continue to participate in all negotiations for a peaceful settlement, whether or not Volker wants it," the media quoted the separatists as saying.

The statement says that without the consent of the LPR and the DPR, "there will be no UN forces in the Donbas".

The terrorists claim that they are ready to give their consent for the deployment of a UN mission, which would be beneficial to the LPR and the DPR during negotiations with the contact group.

Volker stated earlier that everything had already been decided regarding the issue of the participation of the so-called DPR and LPR in the process of the mission deployment.

"The Minsk agreements are between Russia, Ukraine and the OSCE," he said.
