Unidentified militants attacked airbase of Syrian Army in Deir ez-Zor

Unidentified militants attacked the air base of Syrian Air Force in Deir ez- Zor, reports Directorate 4 Telegram channel which monitors the Syrian conflict.

According to the Channel, several militants speaking Russian managed to bypass the security at the air base presenting themselves as Russian military. One of the militants allegedly approached a group of Syrian soldiers and detonated a suicide vest. The militants also managed to set several planes on fire.

According to unconfirmed reports, many Syrian servicemen were killed and 3 planes destroyed.

2 militants have been killed in the gunfight.

On November 3, the Syrian Forces reported that they took control of Deir ez-Zor driving ISIS out of the city.  Deir ez-Zor was considered the last and major stronghold of ISIS in Syria.
