Czech Foreign Minister promises to use legal mechanisms against 'DPR consulate' in Ostrava

Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek promised to use legal measures against the diplomatic mission of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic in Ostrava. This was communicated by the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, on Twitter after meeting with his Czech counterpart.

"Lubomir Zaoralek assured that the Czech Republic will use legal mechanisms against the fake offices in Ostrava and prevent the recurrence of such cases," he wrote.

As previously reported the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry sent a letter of protest to the Embassy of the Czech Republic because of the registration of the so-called Representative Office of the DPR by the Czech authorities in the city of Ostrava.

In spite of the office’s opening, the Czech Foreign Ministry declared that the self-proclaimed DPR can have no diplomatic mission or consular office in the Czech Republic. The Ministry also sent a letter to Nelly Lіskovaya, who calls herself an "honorary consul,” with a demand to immediately stop using the honorary consul title.
