Mayor of Ukrainian city of Dnipro to ban advertisements for Crimean resorts

The mayor of Dnipro, Borys Filatov, wrote on his Facebook page that he plans to consider a ban on the advertising of Crimean resorts at a regular city council meeting.

“On 13 July, during the session, I will demand a ban on the outdoor advertising of Crimean vacations,” he wrote.

He supports the recently established movement in the city ‘Tourist Separatism – STOP’ whose participants rip down all advertisements for vacationing in Crimea. Recently, on the Ukrainian President’s website they filed a petition calling for a ban on advertising recreation activities and transportation to Crimean resorts. As of 25 June, the petition had 165 signatures.
