Media: Separatists in eastern Ukraine received Osa anti-aircraft missile systems from Russia

For two days in a row, separatists near Novoazovsk in eastern Ukraine have been firing at the Ukrainian military and targeting the Ukrainian observation drones using Osa (wasp) surface-to-air missile systems. This brainchild of the Soviet defense industry is in service in Russia, Ukrainian TSN news reported.

Ukrainian military representatives say that the missiles of this system have flown over their heads several times already. "The day before yesterday there were two shots, yesterday two more. One of the missiles fell down in a residential area, another one burst somewhere in the fields," they said. A Ukrainian drone was hit by such a missile near the village Lebedinske . The debris from the rocket was examined by field engineers. "The separatists are being supplied with these anti-aircraft missile systems. That’s what we know: they are shooting with this stuff and we are still talking about the Minsk Agreements and all of those things," says a Ukrainian fighter nicknamed Fix.

Marines at the front say that the enemy methodically destroys the once resort towns along the coast. "The towns must be rebuilt from scratch," a fighter with the call sign Torch stated. "Beaches and children's boarding houses now attract not tourists, but Russian gunners who shoot from the occupied towns of Bezymenne and Novoazovsk. By the intensity of the fire, it's immediately known that these are regular military men. The distance makes it possible to see their equipment, their faces, and how they carry weapons. There was a rumor circulating that the contractors were doing a run-in before going to Syria," a Marine explained.

The enemy is targeting Shyrokyne and the neighboring Ukrainian towns. The enemy has reinforced its line of defense with concrete. A soldier with the call sign Baklusha, who once served in the Crimea, remained faithful to the oath and left the peninsula, he has now been fighting in the war for three years. He says that the opponent is worthy and far from a band of miners and farmers. "They have a strong defense line, they are strengthening. And we are reinforcing, too," he says.
