NATO sends demining equipment to Ukraine

The equipment has been transferred for use by demining experts from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"The SESU has received logistical assistance for its demining divisions in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions within the framework of the NATO Science for Peace and Security program," the Mission of Ukraine to NATO press service reported.

"Four Ford pick-up trucks, along with protective suits, mine detectors and other mine-removal equipment that NATO previously provided to the SESU, will be transferred to four demining teams, who are working to clear mines from the territories in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine that have been freed from pro-Russian terrorists," the report says. It was noted that the overall cost of equipment is estimated at €1 million.

The total amount of humanitarian assistance from partner countries to the Ukrainian Armed Forces has reached more than $56 million.
