Romania did not allow the plane with Russian Prime Minister Rogozin into its air space

Romania did not allow a S7 Airlines passenger flight that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin was on board, into its airspace. He was traveling to Moldova for a meeting with President Igor Dodon. After making a turn, the plane was forced to leave for an airport in Belarus.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania confirmed that the aircraft with Rogozin on board was not allowed to fly in the airspace of the country. At the airport in Chisinau, where the plane was supposed to land, a protest against the visit of Dmitry Rogozin took place, according to Press Obozrenie.

On July 20th, Moldova opposed the Russian Deputy Prime Minister flying to Chisinau and Tiraspol on a Russian Air Force aircraft. Rogozin said that he intends to fly despite the ban.

On July 27th, the Moldovan authorities banned State Duma Deputy Pavel Shperov and a group of Russian artists from entering the country. They were detained at the airport in Chisinau and sent back to Russia. The Moldovan authorities explained that they were denied entry because the Russians could not substantiate the purpose of their visit.
