The Kremlin promised to respond to EU sanctions in accordance with the principle of reciprocity

The Kremlin views the extension of EU sanctions against Russia, "negatively and with regret,” as stated by the presidential press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, RIA Novosti reported.

According to him, Russia will respond to the sanctions by the European Union. "Nobody canceled the principle of reciprocity," Peskov said.

Earlier it was reported that the European Union extended sanctions against Russia for an additional six months, keeping the restrictions in effect at least until January 31, 2018.
