Ukrainian Ministry of Defense: The threat of an amphibious invasion of the Azov coast in growing

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has reported that there is an increasing threat of the Russian military invading the country from the Azov Sea coast.

This was reported by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Vadim Skibitskiy, during a briefing held on the 4th of March.

“The level of danger in the direction of Donetsk and Mariupol is increasing,” he said.

“The military is continuing with the creation of the so-called Azov fleet.  It will consist of boats and other floating craft.  It will be based in the settlements of Sedovo, Noovazovsk and Bezimenne,” Skibitskiy said.

According to him, “in order to create a fleet, they robbed the local population of seven barges and boats.”

“We can now see that the threat of the Russian Black Sea Fleet landing on the Azov coast is rising.  They would do so under the disguise of the units of the 1st Army Corps,” Skibitskiy continued.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, “as of the 1st of March, the 1st and 2nd Army Corps has completed their team work practice.  Additional training is ongoing.
