Yatsenyuk: Ukraine's political system requires a complete and radical reform

The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, calls for a new political system in Ukraine. "The political system of the country requires a complete and radical reform", Yatsenyuk said in the program "10 minutes with the Prime Minister" on Sunday evening.

According to him, the new Ukrainian Constitution should balance the relationship in a triangle: the President – the Government – the Parliament. Moreover, it should be discussed and adopted by the Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian Parliament). "A new political system involves the balance of power, the responsibility of each branch of the government and the right of the people to actually lead their country," Yatsenyuk said.

In addition, the political parties should not be "interest groups" but ideologically directed political movements. Their funding should be transparent "which will also require a new electoral system in Ukraine," Yatsenyuk added.
