Putin dismisses 15 generals

Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed fifteen generals of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry for Emergency Situations, the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Investigative Committee of Russia. The relevant decree was published on August 28 on the official internet portal on legal information.

The more notable department heads that were dismissed include the Head of the Main Department of Ministry for Emergency Situations of Russia in the Tomsk Region, Mikhail Begun, the Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Saratov Region, Andrey Boiko, the Head of the Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service in Komi, Igor Vaneyev and the Head of the main department of the Ministry for Emergency Situations in the Murmansk Regions, Vladimir Gusev.

The site also showed that the following heads were dismissed from their posts: the head of the Ministry for Emergency Situations in the Sahalinsk region, Denis Ilyinov, the Chief of the Office of Investigations of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Kemerovo Region, Sergey Kalinkin and Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kemerovo Region, Igor Korshunov.
