Putin to attend Chirac's memorial service

The press secretary of Russian President, Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin will attend a memorial service for former French President Jacques Chirac, reports RIA Novosti news agency.

The memorial service for Chirac will be held in Paris on September 30. After the Church service, French President Emmanuel Macron will invite the heads of countries, who have come to pay tribute to the former head of state, to the Elysee Palace.

Jacques Chirac died on September 26 at the age of 86. He was serving as the French President for 12 years from 1995 to 2007. His funeral ceremony will be held at the Montparnasse Cemetery, where Chirac's eldest daughter Laurence is buried.
