Russia threatens to block all British media

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared on Russia 1 TV on Tuesday, March 13 that that British media will never operate again in Russian territory if the UK shuts down Russian television channel Russia Today. "Not a single British media outlet will work in our country if they close Russia Today," she said.

According to the media, Roskomnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) also promised to respond in kind against the British press if sanctions are imposed against RT. Earlier reports appeared in the media that the UK broadcasting regulator Ofcom warned the Kremlin-controlled Russia Today television channel that its license could be revoked.

The US Department of Justice has long included RT America in its list of foreign agents. RT journalists later were denied accreditation at the Congress.
