Media: Russia wanted to invite DPR representatives to the OSCE meeting

During the OSCE Permanent Council meeting in Vienna on November 12, Representatives of the Russian Federation proposed to invite the DPR and the LPR representatives to speak at the meeting over Skype.

According to Novosti Donbasa news outlet, Russians put forward this proposal during a meeting dedicated to "elections" held by Russia in LRP and DPR last Sunday.

The delegations of Ukraine, the U.S., Canada and the European Union blocked this proposal. The representatives of Italy, which is currently leading the OSCE, called this proposal unacceptable.

The OSCE Permanent Council is the highest decision-making body between the OSCE Ministerial Council and the Summit meetings.

Earlier, the European Union declared that they consider the “elections” held on November 11 illegal and illegitimate. Canada also condemned elections in the Donbas. Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the results of the “election” in the Donbas are not recognized either by Ukraine or by the world, and their results will be “legally invalid”.

NATO said that the elections in the DPR and LPR contradict Minsk agreements, and expressed support for the Normandy format efforts and the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine.
