• Russian FSB announces arrest of 'SBU agent' in Crimea

    The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that on August 12, Ukrainian citizen Hennadiy Limeshko was arrested while attempting to damage the power line between Sudak and Novyi Svit. The FSB report calls him an SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) agent, sent to Crimea to carry out acts of sabotage, as   reported on the FSB website.

  • NATO aircraft escorted 21 Russian warplanes over the Baltics last week

    The pilots participating in the NATO air mission in the Baltic States flew over the Baltic Sea eight times last week to identify and escort a total of 21 Russian military aircraft, as reported by Delfi, citing the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania.

    About half of the escorted planes were fighters, the rest were transport and even passenger aircrafts. Many Russian transport aircrafts flew with their transmitters off.

  • Russian Security Service detains suicide bombers who planned to carry out terrorist attacks in Moscow

    Officers of the FSB in Russia detained four ISIS terrorists who were preparing to commit a series of terrorist attacks in shopping centers and on public transportation in Moscow.

    The FSB reported that “members of a terrorist group were detained as a result of a special operation. Among them are the organizer of the attacks, who is an emissary of the Islamic State; an expert in the manufacture of explosive devices; and two suicide bombers.”

  • UN has enough evidence to indict Assad but Russia prevents it

    International Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte said that the investigation of crimes in Syria has yielded enough evidence to prosecute President Bashar Assad.

    Carla del Ponte became famous for her investigations of war crimes in Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia. Last week, she said that she is withdrawing from the UN Commission on Syria in protest.   • Russian Minister of Defense: Damascus-controlled territory has increased by 2.5 times

    In a broadcast of the TV channel Russia 24, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said that Damascus-controlled territory has increased by 2.5 times in the last two months.
