Russian media: ‘DPR representative office’ opened in Verona, Italy

Russian media reported the second “representation” of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People's Republic” (DPR) in Italy, which opened in Verona, writes TASS with reference to the head of the representative office "Palmarino Zoccatelli.

The opening ceremony took place on Saturday.

"Our task will be to disseminate truthful information about what is happening in the Donbas, which is still ignored by the official media. Our goal is to draw public attention to the problem that remains unsolved," said Zoccatelli.

He said that he had personally been in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine more than once. “We regularly send our delegations there, including Italian politicians. We are distributing the aid medicines to the population gathered here,” he explained.

Earlier, the self-proclaimed leadership of Donetsk stated that on December 14, 2016, with the participation of representatives of three Italian parties declaring the right ideology, a “DNR representation” was opened in Turin.

This information was confirmed by the Italian team of the Stopfake.org project, which engages in refuting false information about events in Ukraine. Stopfake.org confirmed that this information is not a fake.

Ukraine’s Ambassador to Italy, Yevgeny Perelygin, in turn, said that militants in Italy are not going to be legalized, and the show of the opening the DPR representation in Turin is a provocation of pro-Russian forces.
