Ukraine blocks access to additional Russian media outlets

Some Russian and Ukrainian media outlets have been subjected to sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), as stated in the annex to the decision of the NSDC from May 2, 2018, published on the website of the President of Ukraine.

 Among the media that fell under sanctions are RIA Novosti Ukraine (Interselect LLC and rian.com.ua), Ekonomicheskie Izvestia (Media Innovation Group LLC, eizvestia.com), and Ukrainian Business Portal (Ukrainian Business Portal LLC, ubp.com.ua).

Russian public television’s REN-TV and Channel 5, Russia Today websites (RIA Novosti, Sputnik, Prime, etc.), Radio Vera, TNT Channel, Zvezda, All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company websites, RTR-Planeta websites (Vesti.RU, Russia 1, etc.), and websites of Channel One, NTV and other channels are also subject to sanctions.

The internet providers will be required to block access to the web sites that are subjected to sanctions. As previously reported, Russian social networks Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki, online sources of Yandex, Kinopoisk website and a number of other internet resources have been banned in Ukraine since 2017.
