Ukrainian President Zelensky: it is necessary win back the minds of Donbas residents

During the presentation of the new Donetsk Regional State Administrator Pavlo Kirilenko in Kramatorsk, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that it is essential to remind the residents of the Donbas territories not controlled by Ukraine that they are Ukrainians and to fight for that, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

"It is important to win back the minds of our people who live in the temporarily occupied territories. We can do that through a stable payment of pensions, and comfortable passage  through the entry points. There are many issues connected to that," said Volodymyr Zelensky.

Also, he believes that it is crucial to work on ending the war in the Donbas, and the restoration of the region at the same time.

"I think that we do not have to blame war or the other side all the time. We need to work to end the war and at the same time to think about our people, as well as to restore the Donbas", - said the Ukrainian President.

On July 5, Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Pavel Kirilenko as the Regional State Administrator of Donetsk. Earlier, Kirilenko was serving as the military Prosecutor of the Uzhgorod garrison of the Western region of Ukraine. Kirilenko is 33 years old.

The President also appointed Vladimir Petrichenko as a new head of the Main Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
