Belarus reported increase in military cooperation with the West

Belarus has enhanced its military cooperation with NATO as was stated in an interview with the Belarusian Military Newspaper by the Deputy Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Defense Ministry of the Republic, Dmitry Uporov.

"International military cooperation with the west has enhanced significantly," he noted. "We continue our cooperation with NATO, both the international organization as a whole, and with individual members of the alliance in a bilateral format as well."

Uporov also added that Belarus "continues the formation of stable partnerships in the military sphere with Russia and partner countries," and "develops military cooperation on a bilateral basis within CSTO, CIS, UN and NATO international organizations, taking into account the multi-vector policy of the state."

The representative of the military department of Belarus said that Minsk was also actively in communication "with the People's Liberation Army of China, and the armed forces of other countries in Asia, the Middle East and South America."
