Kyiv: Coal from the separatist-held areas of Donbas may be exported to Turkey

The coal mined in along the demarcation line in eastern Ukraine can be delivered to Turkey through Russia, as announced by the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, Igor Nasalik.

"The ministry appealed to the embassies of eight countries where coal from the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation in the Donbas) zone has previously been sold, so far, the most problematic destination is Turkey," the minister said.

According to him, the Ukrainians are working with the embassy in Turkey and the companies that confirmed the availability of this coal.

The Minister also emphasized that Ukraine will use all legal means to stop the supply of coal from the separatist-held areas of the Donbas.

According to him, the Ukrainian DTEC holding, whose enterprises were seized in the separatist-held territories of the Donbas, along with the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, are actively working to block the illegal supply of Ukrainian coal to Russia and its further export to other countries.
