Russia's Roscosmos to pay to calculate flight trajectories to Mars and Jupiter
The Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities has allocated 127 million rubles for the calculation of trajectories of flights to the Moon, Mars and Jupiter as noted in the online application for Government Procurement in Russia. The procurement notice requires the calculation of the trajectory for an interplanetary spacecraft to Mars and the Moon, including the trajectory for descent and landing on the Moon.
It also requires the calculation of the trajectory to control the landing apparatus in the atmosphere of Mars and an artificial satellite for Mars and Jupiter, using aerodynamic braking in the atmosphere of these planets.
In addition, the contractor shall determine the orbital parameters for space systems to carry out Earth remote sensing, communications, and repeaters. The procurement also calls for the calculation of orbital parameters for the disposal of old satellites.
In addition, professionals will need to create a model of dangerous approaches of space debris in orbit and develop options for maneuvers so the satellites can avoid colliding with space debris and other spacecraft. The work must be completed by November 30, 2018.
In June, Russia announced the start of work on the creation of a return flight model of the launch vehicle. Roscosmos stated that the Falcon 9 by Elon Musk did not impress Russian specialists.
In April, the Russian Space Agency said that a Russian Moon base may appear by 2035. Roscosmos believes that it is necessary for Russia to consolidate the territory on the South Pole of the Moon.
