Ukrainian Ambassador to US: Key American ministers will visit Ukraine

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Valeriy Chaly, said that the head of the U.S. Department of State, Rex Tillerson, the Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, and Energy Secretary, Rick Perry received invitations to visit Ukraine in the near future, Ukrinform reports.

"President Petro Poroshenko invited several cabinet members to Ukraine. It is obvious that the official announcements will be made later, but I can say for sure that this year we expect the U.S. Secretary of Energy, the Secretary of State, and the Minister of Defense, despite his very busy schedule," the ambassador said.

According to him, such visits "will certainly give us an opportunity to reach some concrete solutions." Meanwhile, the relevant agreements and decisions are being prepared.

Chaly also noted that U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration "confirmed that they see Ukraine as an important partner."

On June 20th, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko first met with President Trump.
