Russian MP claims Russia has S-700 air defense systems
The Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, Deputy of the State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky stated on the “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” talk show on October 11 that Russia has S-600 and S-700 air defense systems.
During the show, Zhirinovsky talked about political consequences of supplying S-300 Russian anti-aircraft missile systems to Syria. According to the leader of Russian liberal democrats, the newer S-700 systems can hit targets anywhere in the world.
Zhirinovsky admitted that the Russian army has not only S-300 systems but also S-400, S-500, S-600 and S-700 systems, the latter being the most advanced in air defense systems, being able to hit any missile immediately after the launch.
The audience laughed at Zhirinovsky’s statement and the host cautioned him not to reveal any details about the dangerous "S-1500 system".
