Despite Frequent Power Cuts, Russian Authorities in Crimea Say Electricity Supply Is 'Stable'
Russian authorities in Crimea provided three straight hours of electricity to homes and called the power supply situation ‘completely stable.’ The press service reported on January 24th that industry works and that the supplied power came to 48 megawatts. The power supply priorities have changed.

A court in Simferopol arrested Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Dzhemilev in absentia and placed him on the Russian Federation’s wanted list. Dzhemilev was one of the organizers of the blockade placed against the occupied Crimean Peninsula.

Nine Towns Left Without Electricity in Crimea
Nine towns in Crimea were left without electricity when a high voltage transmission line broke down. The Russian government press service reported that the Simferopol REN (Regional Electric Networks) suffered a damaged power line that generated 35 kW of electricity. The towns of Hvardiiske, Sofiyivka, Sovkhoznoye, Malenkoye, Zhuravlevka, Shirokoye, Divnoye, Storozhevoye and Kuprino were deprived of power as a result. Repair work is currently ongoing.
