Deputy Secretary of State: US will not sign any deal regarding Ukraine without its consent

The US will not agree to a deal on Ukraine without its consent and will help restore its territorial integrity and independence, as stated by US Deputy Secretary of State, John Sullivan, during a speech in front of Ukrainian students, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"The Crimea is Ukraine, Donbas is Ukraine, we will never agree to exchange one region for another, we will never agree to sign agreements on Ukraine without the consent of Ukraine ... We will help restore territorial integrity and ensure the safety of its citizens," he said.

Sullivan also noted that many Russian-speaking Ukrainians are dying protecting the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

"The direct consequences of Russian aggression was that the Russian-speaking population suffers most of all in the Donbas and in the Crimea," Sullivan said.

The US Special Representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker believes that the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas will help resolve the conflict and will contribute to the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

Volker also said that the program of military assistance to Ukraine provides for both free weapons and weapons for sale.
