Media: US may impose restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats within the country
Washington plans to reduce the permissible radius of movement for Russian diplomats in the United States in response to Moscow's mirror actions regarding diplomatic personnel and diplomatic property, Izvestia writes, citing sources.
"This would mean cutting the perimeter from 25 miles (40 km), which currently applies, to 10-15 miles (16-24 km)," the publication notes.
At the same time, the US administration may also introduce a notification procedure through which diplomats from Russia would be obliged to notify the State Department within three working days of their plans to leave for a distance exceeding the mandate.
The decision on a tougher stance toward Russian diplomatic mission in the US will be announced before September 1.
