Moldovan President Dodon claims that he will have a meeting with Zelensky soon

Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that he had a phone conversation with the President-elect of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday.

"I had a telephone conversation with the President-elect of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. I congratulated him on his election as the head of the neighboring state and wished him success in his responsible position. We discussed the relations between Moldova and Ukraine in various areas of mutual interests. We agreed to hold a bilateral meeting soon and discuss the current issues," Dodon wrote on his Facebook page.

Zelensky and his team have not yet confirmed this conversation.

Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider draft regulations on the appointment of the date of inauguration of the newly elected President Volodymyr Zelensky at the next meeting on May 15.

The newly elected President Volodymyr Zelensky insists that inauguration ceremony should happen on May 19. This initiative was heavily criticized because this year Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions falls on May 19.
