LPR politician says Plotnitskiy is purging the separatist republic of disloyal individuals

Ex-chairman of the People’s Council of the People's Republic of Luhansk (LPR) Aleksey Karyakin is sure that the former Head of the LPR government, Gennady Tsypkalov, was killed. Karyakin told this to the URA.ru news agency, commenting on the latest developments taking place in Luhansk these days.

"His body was found in the basement of the administration head building,” Karyakin said. “He was totally bruised and showed signs of strangulation. I am sure that he was tortured and killed because he could not be forced to slander."

Karyakin told the news agency that he had communicated with Tsypkalov on the last day of his life by means of SMS, and the latter told him he had been summoned for interrogation.

"After the interrogation, where he was questioned about me, he visited the administration. But the very same evening he was captured at home during a raid by masked police; this happened on September 22nd. The lawyer was not allowed to see him in the morning. Apparently, he was already dead", the former speaker said.

Information about Tsypkalov’s death appeared on September 24th. It was officially announced by Sergey Rakhno, the head of the department for supervision over the observance of legality in the Prosecutor General of the LPR’s military sphere. During a briefing in Luhansk, he said that the Prosecutor General's Office, investigating the criminal case on the coup d’état in the LPR, established a circle of persons involved in it.

"One of the leaders of the People's Police of the Republic, Kiselyov by name, was detained during the investigation. He confessed about the mechanism and the circle of individuals involved in the coup d’état and about his own role in it. He also gave accusing other participants of being involved,” Rakhno said.

He explained that investigators planned to hold a confrontation between Tsypkalov and Kiselyov, but it was too late. "Having realized the gravity of the committed crime and understanding that the provided information on the foregoing circle of persons endangers his life, Tsypkalov committed suicide,” Rakhno stated.

Alexey Karyakin was declared wanted by the Prosecutor's Office of the LPR. The ex-speaker described the situation as a "clean up". "The ‘high-principled’ are being cleaned up from the inside. Just look how many dead bodies turned up over the past several days,” he stated.

According to URA.ru, Alexey Karyakin is now hiding in Russia. On Monday, the blogosphere reported that he was detained in Rostov-on-Don, but this information has not been officially confirmed yet.
