Pororshenko: Ukraine has established the Donbas Reconstruction Fund

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated that a special fund for the restoration of the Donbas will be established in Ukraine and financed through budgetary funds and international assistance, his press service reported.

"Work is continuing on a special fund which will be directed for the restoration of the Donbas,” the President stated.

According to Poroshenko, the fund will be formed using the state budget of Ukraine and donor assistance of partner countries and international financial organizations. In particular, Kiev expects to receive "€500 million from Germany, €200 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, €200 million from the European Investment Bank and considerable funds from G7 countries and the UN” for the restoration of the Donbas.

"The priority task is restoration of damaged infrastructure, including water supplies, power supply facilities, bridges,” the President specified, assuring that funding of the project of works has already been carried out.

"The entire Donbas, Ukraine and the world must consider the restoration of the Donbas as a priority of the state authority of Ukraine. Everyone sees the difference in attitudes between people from here and from there. They see that we are already restoring and will continue to restore normal life for the people. They see what results emerged from the so-called ‘Russian spring’ or ‘Russian world’,” Poroshenko emphasized.
