Russia to produce film on the construction of the Kerch Strait Bridge

The Russian Ministry of Culture posted an announcement on the state procurement website seeking competitive bids for the production of a special project, "a full-length film with partial financial support from the State on the subject of the construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait." The film must be completed before the end of November 2017.

The project budget should not exceed 3 million rubles ($47,700). The Ministry of Culture will accept applications for the production of the film until October 26.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the need to build a passage over the Kerch Strait immediately after the annexation of the Crimea in March 2014. It was promised that the bridge would be built by 2018 and brought into operation in the summer of 2019.

At the beginning of July 2016, the Crimean Bridge Information Center reported that the total cost of construction of the bridge over the Kerch Strait from Russia to the Crimea would be $3.624 billion. Prior to that, it was reported that the Russian government had postponed the start time of the railway part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait for one year - from December 2018 to December 2019

Ukrainian businesses withdrew from the agreement with Russia on the construction of the bridge in 2014, after the annexation of the Crimea by the Russian Federation.
