Ukraine will not deliver food to Transnistria without Moldova’s consent

From May 20, Ukraine will only allow the delivery of food to the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) and only after agreeing on the deliveries with the National Food Safety Agency of Moldova.

This is reported on the website of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

A corresponding decree was issued by the Chief State Inspector of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Veterinary Medicine of the CIS Countries.

The Moldavian news portal “newsmaker.md “ writes that having learned about Ukraine’s decision, President of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky convened an emergency meeting of the Security Council where they talked about the serious threat to the food security of the unrecognized republic that such a decision poses.

Since the beginning of the year, more than 6,000 tons of cargos from 29 countries of the world, which arrive through the Ukrainian port, have been delivered to Transnistria.
