Ukrainian Armed forces disband a group of pro-Russian separatists capturing a Russian national

In the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in the Luhansk region, the Ukrainian military disarmed and captured a subversive-intelligence group of separatist fighters, as reported at the press briefing by the Speaker of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Andrei Lysenko.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also confirmed this information. According to the Ukrainian command, among those detained and killed were Russian citizens.

"As a result of the measures taken, four militiamen were detained and two others, the commander and one of the infiltrators, who were violently resisting the soldiers of the Ukrainian Forces, were killed. It is worth noting that the deceased commander of the group was a citizen of the Russian Federation from the city of Kirov," the message of the General Staff reads.

According to the report, among the captured fighters there was a citizen of the Russian Federation from the Altai Krai.

During the operation, weapons of the members of the group were seized, namely: 2 modernized Kalashnikov machine guns, 2 Dragunov sniper rifles, 2 AK-74 and 1 anti-tank grenade launcher.

The Military Prosecutor General of Ukraine started criminal proceedings against the detained mercenaries.
