Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladislav Surkov, said that his next meeting with US Special Representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker will be held next year.
"Most likely, in the new year, I hope that it will be at the beginning of next year," he said in an interview with TASS.
He also said that he does not see a subject for discussion. According to him, Russia "proposed a realistic and attainable peace initiative" on the security mission in the Donbas, and it must be accepted.
Surkov believes that Russia is "the most effective peacekeeper" and that it "stopped a full-scale civil war in Ukraine."
Surkov and Volker met on August 21st in Minsk, and twice in Belgrade on October 7th and November 13th. During their last meeting, they discussed the current state of affairs in the diplomatic sphere regarding efforts to end hostilities in the Donbas, but were unable to achieve a unified position. Nevertheless, there was an agreement to continue the search for a compromise.
