US sends four military refueling aircraft to Ukraine

The US Air Force dispatched four Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker tankers to the airport near Lviv to participate in the exercises, the US Air Force website in Europe and Africa reports.

In addition to the aircraft, about 150 aircrew and ground support personnel arrived in Ukraine. "The KC-135 deployment to Ukraine is a part of the US strategy to defend European Allies, enhance security in Eastern Europe and increase the level of military understanding between Allies and partners," the statement reads.

The Ukrainian Joint Forces Operation exercises will be held from June 4 to 16. In May, Ukrainian aviation took part in the exercises in the Donbas, wherein aircraft provided cover for infantry conducting a mock attack on an enemy stronghold.
