US Representative Volker plans new visit to Ukraine

Kurt Volker, US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine, will visit Kyiv in the near future, reports Voice of America.

"In the near future I will visit Ukraine, I want to go to the eastern part of the country", Volker said, speaking at the Brussels forum. The American diplomat emphasized that the date of the visit hasn’t yet been set.

The last time Volker visited Ukraine was the day before his meeting with Russian Presidential Aide, Vladislav Surkov. Negotiations between Volker and Surkov were held on January 26th in Dubai. Before that, the American diplomat came to Kyiv where he met with President Petro Poroshenko, The Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Viktor Muzhenko, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov.

Russian media reported that another meeting between Volker and Surkov is scheduled in spring.
