China to invest in construction of tunnel under the Baltic Sea

Helsingin Snomat newspaper reported that Chinese fund Touchstone Capital Partners decided to invest in a large-scale Finnish project, the construction of a railway tunnel under the Baltic Sea.

According to the report, China is ready to allocate 15 billion euros in stages as necessary but not in a single payment. Touchstone will invest in construction through the Chinese logistics project “One Belt, One Road” that involves the development of transport infrastructure in Eurasia.

Russia wants to replace imported aircraft engines with domestic ones

The new Russian VK-800 aircraft engine will eliminate the need for domestic manufacturers to continue purchasing foreign engines, Avia Port Executive Director Oleg Panteleev told Russian RT TV Channel.

Panteleev said that after testing, the Russian engine will be installed in L-410UPV-E20 civilian aircraft that are currently equipped with М601 and H80 engines of the Czech company, GE Aviation Czech (Walter), a subsidiary of US-based General Electric.

Kyiv: 3,233 people released from militants’ captivity since the beginning of war in Donbas

The Anti-Terrorist Center of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported that since the beginning of the armed conflict in the Donbas, 3,233 people have been released from the militants’ captivity.

US State Department announces a tender to promote Internet freedom in Ukraine

The US Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Affairs published  tender requirements for programs that promote Internet freedom in Ukraine.

US authorities have yet specified the exact amount of the grant, though the department’s press service says it could range anywhere from $500,000 to $1.18 million US dollars. Lithuania to increase number of video cameras on the border with Russia
