Ukraine to receive 50 million euros from the European Commission to combat corruption

The Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, told reporters that the European Commission intends to allocate 50 million euros to support Ukraine’s fight against corruption, Rosbalt reported.

"In the next few days the Commission will adopt a program to support anti-corruption initiatives in Ukraine ... As far as I remember, the size is about 50 million [euros]," Hahn said at a press conference in Kiev.

One Ukrainian soldier killed and ten wounded in the Donbas

Over the last 24 hours, one Ukrainian soldier was killed and ten were wounded as a result of the fighting in the Donbas, Interfax-Ukraine reported, citing the Speaker of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration on issues in the conflict area, Andrei Lysenko.

Ukraine and Canada sign free trade agreement

Ukraine and Canada have signed a free trade agreement. The Canadian Minister of International Trade, Chrystia Freeland, and First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Stepan Kubiv, signed the agreement. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) rejected almost all applications from Russian track and field athletes to participate in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
