French fighters escorted Russian bombers off the coast of Brittany
On the 22nd of September, two French Rafale fighter jets were scrambled to escort two Russian Tu-160 bombers that were intercepted 100 kilometers from Brittany’s coastline (Atlantic coast) as they were approaching the borders of France, the Ministry of Defense of France reported.
This is at least the third incident involving Russian bombers making forays into Europe. Previously, Russian Tu-160 bombers were spotted in the north of Norway, then in the west of Ireland and after that near France.
