During a press conference on Friday, the Acting Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, Charles Summers  announced that Turkey’s military relationship with the United States would face serious consequences if Ankara receives the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The Turkish Minister of National Defense, Hulusi Akar stated that Russian and Turkish military will begin joint patrols in the Syrian province of Idlib,  Anadolu news agency reports . As the minister noted, the cooperation of the two countries in this area will ensure the preservation of the cease-fire in northwest Syria.

“Russia will implement it along the borders of Idlib, and the Turkish armed forces in the regions in which weapons were seized from the terrorists,” he said.
