Polish Foreign Minister accuses Russia of violating key UN and OSCE principles

Russia’s destructive actions undermine the architecture of security in Europe and the international order as a whole; they violate the core principles of the UN and the OSCE, as stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Witold Waszczykowski, on Wednesday in Warsaw during the XIV Forum of Polish foreign policy, Ukrinform reports.

“Russia undermines not only the European security architecture, but also the international order,” Waszczykowski said, adding that Poland is actively defending the restoration of the international order.

“National interests of Poland include restoration of international order and respect to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the countries as well as observance of their right to democratic development and non-use of force in international relations,” Waszczykowski stressed.

Waszczykowski emphasized that, in the current circumstances, Poland could not afford to remain neutral to the events around the country’s borders and to the further fate of NATO and the EU. He added that cohesion and unity of members of these organizations is in the interests of Warsaw.
