The U.S. Army plans to station 80 helicopters in Poland

The Polish Armed Forces agreed on the decision to station the second major U.S. military unit – a military aviation brigade, which is made up of 80 helicopters and 400 servicemen, in Poland, Rzeczpospolita reported.

According to the newspaper, the aviation group will be stationed at Powidz (Greater Poland Voivodeship in the center of the country) airfield in late March 2017. The aviation group will provide air support for the tank brigade that previously arrived in Poland.

It consists of approximately 50 Black Hawk helicopters, 24 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters and approximately 10 Chinook military transport helicopters. It was stated that the helicopters have been delivered to Germany and the decision on their transportation to Poland will be made soon.
