Journalist Babchenko turns up alive after Ukrainian Security Service stages his 'murder'

Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko is alive. He appeared in front of the TV cameras during the briefing of the head of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU). According to SBU, the "murder" of the journalist was staged.

Babchenko greeted everyone and apologized for what everyone had to go through. He also apologized to his wife.

"A separate apology goes to my wife. Olga, I'm sorry, but there were no options. The operation was prepared for two months, " he said.

He also thanked the SBU for saving his life.

This SBU operation started preparing for the operation two months ago.  Babchenko was informed about it a month ago.

"During this month, I saw how the guys worked... All this month we were in constant contact. We thought it through, worked out, acted. And in the end, the result was this operation, "he said.

According to Arkady Babchenko, his murder was prepared, perhaps, to coincide with final of the Champions League in Kyiv.

"In fact, other, apparently larger, more serious terrorist attacks, which have been seriously planned, have been averted. And so, what was reported a week ago in Russia, that ISIS is preparing terrorist attacks during the Champions League, was apparently true, "Babchenko said.

According to him, the fact that the would-be killers were given his picture, which is available only in his Russian passport and the Russian passport office, testifies that the information comes from the Russian special services.

Babchenko stressed that when he was offered to take part in the special operation, he had no reason to refuse. "I agreed. We have been preparing this operation for a month, "the journalist said.

According to him, only two weeks were given to the killers to carry out the murder.

"Then they began to customize the deadlines. They thought apparently to carry it out during the Champions League. We had to somehow equivocate, invent excuses. So, I had to "break my leg ", though it was not broken. Then I had to go somewhere, " Babchenko added.
