    Poland regrets the decision of the European Commission (EC) to launch procedures for imposing sanctions against the country.

  • Polish Senate adopts controversial judicial reform laws

    The Senate of Poland (upper house of parliament) has adopted, without amendment, two controversial laws on changes in the country’s judicial system that will affect the Supreme Court and the National Council of Judicial Proceedings, reported TVN24.

    60 senators voted in favor of the law on the National Council of Judicial Proceedings, while 26 voted against it; one abstained. The law on the Supreme Court was supported by 58 senators; 26 voted against it, and three abstained.

  • President of Ukraine signs judicial reform

    On Wednesday November 22, President Petro Poroshenko signed a law introducing amendments to the Economic Procedure Code, Civil Procedure Code and Administrative Court Procedure Code, the president’s press service announced.

    This is the largest reform of procedural legislation since Ukraine’s independence, and the largest bill in the history of the Verkhovna Rada.

  • Polish President refuses to sign judicial reform laws

    Polish President Andrzej Duda sent the two laws on judicial reform which he had vetoed to the Sejm (the lower house of parliament) to be modified, as reported by the Polish president’s press service. The laws had caused massive protests in Poland.
