Lavrov: Russia establishing an industrial zone in Egypt

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov wrote in his article for the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram that Russia started working on establishing of an industrial zone In Egypt, near the Suez Canal. According to Lavrov, Russia has also begun construction of a nuclear power plant in the city of El Dabaa. Lavrov's article was also published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Lavrov states in the article that 2018 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Egypt. According to him, the current political dialogue between the countries is developing dynamically and the trade turnover worth more than $6.5 billion is growing, and the treaty and its legal framework are being improved.

Lavrov also acknowledged the work of the Russian-Egyptian intergovernmental commissions on cooperation in the trade, economic and military-technical sphere.
