Media: Syrian air defense repelled a missile attack on military facilities in Hama province

On the night from Thursday to Friday, Syrian air defenses repelled a missile attack on military facilities in the city of Masyaf in the Hama province, reports SANA news agency citing its military source. According to SANA, the Syrian anti-aircraft operators managed to destry one of the missiles which was flying from the direction of neighboring Lebanon. Earlier, it was reported that loud explosions were heard in the city.

On July 22, Al Ekhbariya TV channel also reported that the air defense of the Syrian army repelled missile strikes on Masyaf. However later it became clear that it was a mortar attack, and shell impacts were mistaken for airstrikes.

On April 13, the Israeli air force attacked military targets in the vicinity of Masyaf. The airstrike also hit the missile storehouse of Hezbollah fighters who are fighting on the side of government troops.
